The Dr. Melina protein bar was designed entirely by World Famous nutritionist, Dr. Melina Jampolis, MD.
"Dr Melina", as she is called by her patients, authored the bestselling book "The No Time To Lose Diet".
Throughout her many years helping patients lose weight and get healthy, Dr. Melina was constantly on the lookout for the perfect nutrition bar for weight loss and weight maintenance. The bar needed to be healthy, great tasting, less than 200 calories, and control hunger for hours.
After five years of tasting bars that didn’t measure up, she gave up the search and decided to create her own: the Dr. Melina Protein Bar.
She designed the bar exactly to her specifications including the use of whey protein (higher quality, increases fullness). She made sure that each flavor included at least one ingredient with extra health benefits (cinnamon for healthy blood sugar, almonds and peanuts for healthy cholesterol, and dried raspberries for anti-oxidants).
Finally, since most Americans don’t get enough Vitamin D or calcium but get plenty of most other vitamins and minerals, Dr. Melina added 30% of the RDA of Vitamin D (D3, the healthiest form) and 15-20% of the RDA of calcium.
